I’m excited to share my passion for fabric, wool and all things crafty with you here at our amazing, community-led crafting hub. I specialise in sourcing high-quality materials for a wide range of creative projects, including knitting, crochet, dressmaking, bridal, felting, quilting and much more.

Since Christmas 2024, Copeland Fabric and Wool has been providing high-quality fabric, wool and haberdashery to our local customers.
Founder Marie Hunter, mum of three daughters, has had a passion for all things craft from an early age – especially dressmaking. With over 41 years’ experience in the bridal and textile industry, Marie saw the need for a store that offers a wide variety of fabrics at affordable prices. Her aim is to offer fellow crafters an accessible, home-from-home crafting space that also supports local people in finding the mental and emotional joy of developing both new and existing crafting skills.
Marie has enjoyed more than 42 years in bridal design and production. She also gained skills in crochet and art through her beloved Auntie Pauline. Marie now passes on those skills to local children and adults alike. She firmly believes that exploring all types of crafts gives a real sense of achievement and pride, and is one of the very best hobbies to support positive mental health.
Marie is your tutor for all sewing and dressmaking courses, beginners’ crochet, painting, embroidery and everything bridal, including floristry.
Martha O’Connor is our tutor for quilting, Japanese embroidery, paper craft and card making.
Martha is an American scrapbooker and quilter who lives in Copeland. She has been quilting and scrapbooking for over two decades and has previously demonstrated on the Ideal World shopping channel. Martha enjoys teaching and has a genuine love of crafting.
Pippa Bachmann is our tutor for machine embroidery and the lead tutor for the kids’ club. Pippa originally followed her love of art, especially graphic novels. She enjoys teaching others the joys of machine embroidery patterns and design, including children, and also runs our Saturday kids’ club.
